Pastoral Support
At Amesbury, we aim to provide the highest quality pastoral support throughout the school. We work with a variety of outside professionals to support pupils to achieve their best educationally, socially and emotionally.
Our Team is made up of Miss Christie Foote (SENDCo and Senior Mental Health Lead), Mrs Paola Campari-Moss (Pastoral Manager), Mrs Josephine Chant (ELSA) and Mrs Melanie Kavanagh (ELSA).
How Does The Pastoral Team Work?
- ELSA - Referrals are made by school staff to our ELSAs, who then complete a block of seven sessions on one of the following:
- Family Breakdown
- Bereavement
- Anxiety
- Transition Support
- Social Skills
- Regulation
- One Off Sessions - Single sessions with any member of the pastoral team
- Pastoral Clubs - Sessions to support periods of unstructured play or transitions.
Sessions can be as individuals or as part of a group. A variety of different methods could be used to support your child, including: role-play, puppets, board games, arts and crafts, therapeutic play, social stories and time to talk. Sessions are reviewed at the end of each block and information is then given to parents about their child's progress.
Contacts:
- Pupils - Any child can ask to speak to the pastoral team if they have a worry at school or at home. A suitable time will then be arranged to meet.
- Parents/Carers- If you have a pastoral concern regarding your child, you can: phone the school office, speak to your child's class teacher or make an appointment to see Mrs Campari-Moss via the school office. Please call the office on 01980 623009 or email office@amesbury.wilts.sch.uk.
- School Staff - an ELSA Referral Form can be completed and emailed to Miss Foote.
