As the local parish priest, I have the joy and privilege of helping to uphold and develop the School’s Christian ethos as a Foundation Governor and to be a standing member ‘ex-officio’ of the Governing Board. Alongside this focus on Christian ethos, I serve as the Staff Wellbeing Governor. I am committed to supporting all members of the School community in any way that I can, with a particular concern for the spiritual growth and general wellbeing of its members. Additionally, I am keen to strengthen and deepen the links between our School and the parish church for the mutual flourishing of them both.

I have been a governor at Amesbury Church of England Primary School since October 2019. My husband, Michael, and I settled in the area some years ago when he left the army, after serving in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME). Our four children were educated at different schools locally. I taught in Salisbury for twenty-five years, teaching various age groups from Reception up to Year 11 GCSE classes. Currently I am the Link Governor for Early Years and Special Education Needs ( SEND). I enjoy attending school events (when possible), and I am pleased to be able to help the local community as a governor, supporting the school, meeting pupils and staff. My hobbies include gardening, walking our labrador, Scipio, reading and swimming. I have some rescued ex-battery hens as well as Light Sussex hens, who enjoy freedom in their part of the garden. I am also sometimes kept busy helping to look after our five grandchildren. I attend church locally and belong to various groups.

I then completed my degree in Business Economics at Cardiff University before moving into Sales. I have a currently have a daughter at the school in Y5 and my son previously attended Amesbury Primary School. I joined the Governing Body in 2015 as a Co-opted Governor to try and give something back to the school and community, and I am now serving my second term. I have previously been both Chair and Vice-Chair of Governors, and during my time as part of the Full Governing Body (FGB) I have been involved in a wide range of areas. We have been fortunate to recently recruit several new Governors to help strengthen the FGB and continue to take the school forward. Professionally, I am a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. I have an extensive background in product design and development, and I currently work at QinetiQ within Systems Engineering. My interests, when time allows, include cycling, photography, walking and camping, (plus some recent attempts at stand-up paddle boarding with the children).

Foundation Governor 7 December 2018  - 6 December 2022

Vice-Chair of Governors since September 2021

Committees: Ethos, HT Performance Management

Link Responsibility: Health & Safety, Website, Communication, Behavior KS2

SDP Monitoring Area: Behaviour & Attitudes

Subject: IT including E- Safety

I have been a Foundation Governor at Amesbury Church of England Primary School since October 2018. I currently have 2 girls at the School, Lucy (Year 4) & Charlotte (Year 2) with my eldest Georgina having spent a wonderful 5 years there & now flourishing at South Wilts. We live in Amesbury almost opposite St Mary & St Melor church & for the past 10 years have had a very close connection with both the school & the church. I work as an IT Solution Architect which normally means a fair amount of global travel but that’s been somewhat limited to a 20 second walk to my garden office! What little spare time I have is spent running, fly fishing, driving over Salisbury Plain in my trusty Land rover and playing guitar (badly). As a foundation governor and as a parent I feel passionate about the school’s future and its place within our community. While each governor has specific roles and duties within the governing body, it’s certainly a case of the

whole being greater than the sum of the parts.

Parent Governor 19 November 2020 - 18 November 2024

Committee: HT Performance Management (Chair)

Link Responsibility: Data & School Performance, Pupil Premium, Sports Premium

SDP Monitoring Area: Leadership & Management

Subject: English

I currently sit as a Parent Governor on the School Governor Board. Both of my children are pupils at Amesbury Primary, Freya in Y5 and Oscar in Y1, and whilst they keep me more than busy I joined the Board in November 2020 as I was keen to really contribute to the school’s development and progression. Therefore the last six months have seen me involved in a range of activities, including assessing how we can better monitor and evaluate the school’s overall performance. So far it has been a really enjoyable and insightful experience and one that I would to recommend to other parents when the next opportunity to be a member of the governing body comes up. Outside of the school, I work for the MoD at Army HQ (Andover) and I am currently focused on logistics programme management and ensuring that the Army has the correct level of stocks for operations. Overall I have spent 17 years in the Civil Service, both in Andover and

Whitehall, as well as one year as a secondary school teacher. My aim is to try and bring the skills and experience from this career to good use at the school, ensuring that all of it’s pupils have a rich and rewarding education.

I am delighted to introduce myself as a new Parent Governor. My son is currently in Year 2, and my daughter has just started in Reception. The majority of my primary education took place at International schools in Curaçao in the Caribbean and in the Netherlands respectively. I finally settled in Buckinghamshire with my family and went on to earn a place at Dr Challoners High School for girls. I then completed my degree in Sociology at the University of Southampton before pursuing a career in Social Work in Enfield, London. I then relocated to Amesbury to start a life with my husband in rural Wiltshire, and for the last seven years I have been a stay at home mum to our two children. Since our youngest has started school, I have been fortunate enough to pursue my ultimate passion and have set up my own sewing business which has, so far, kept me very busy! As well as sewing, I enjoy running, reading, yoga, painting, drinking coffee, eating cake and walking our very lively (and loud) beagle puppy, Bob. I have also been PTA Secretary at the school since 2019. I am really looking forward to supporting the school in my new and exciting role.

I live near Tisbury with my family. My son and daughter have now graduated from university, and embarking on their own careers in Finance and Costume Design. Following a degree in Politics from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, I worked at Sotheby’s before having my children, and ran my own catering company alongside family life. I have a passion for supporting primary school education, and a strong commitment to continuous school improvement. I am delighted to have been recently appointed Chair of Governors at Amesbury - the governors work together as a committed team, supporting our dedicated staff to help all our pupils realise their full potential and have the best possible primary school experience. I think it’s important to continue to learn new skills so I took up golf after Lockdown 1. I enjoy gardening, tennis, skiing, yoga, bridge and walking our 2 dogs; a Chocolate Labrador called Otis & Ernie, a Working Cocker Spaniel. I am currently the LA Governor at The Minster CE Primary School in Warminster, and I have been Chair of Governors at another Wiltshire Primary School. I am also Vice Chair of Chilmark Parish Council.

ex-officio Staff Governor Interim Head Teacher 1 September -

Link Responsibility: Designated Lead for Safeguarding, Looked after Children & Previously Looked After Children and Disadvantaged Children.

I was appointed Interim Head teacher of Amesbury CE Primary School in September 2021, and I am delighted to be part of such a supportive and welcoming school community. I started my teaching career in prisons and young offender institutions – a role which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have always been interested in the role between education and later life chances. I am fully committed to ensuring that every child at Amesbury is able to achieve well academically, be challenged in and outside of the classroom and to be taught moral values such as tolerance, respect and honesty, so that they are able to take their place in (and be prepared for) life in a modern, democratic society. As an ex-officio governor, I attend all governing body meetings and provide detailed and relevant information about pupils' progress, attainment and overall school development on a broad range of curricular activities. A key responsibility is all matters pertaining to safeguarding. I have been married to John for 23 years and we have 4 children ranging in age from 25 to 13. We are a busy and noisy household and you will often find me in the kitchen surrounded by either our 4 dogs – Teddy, Henry, Dave & Chizzy – or our 3 cats – Truffles, Amy and Enid. When I am not at work, I enjoy walking the dogs in the beautiful Somerset countryside where we live, watching The Great British Bake Off, singing (enthusiastically) and the theatre.

Clerk to Governors 1 September 2021 -

Following a post graduate diploma in careers guidance, I spent the first part of my career in careers education, information, advice and guidance working in many Wiltshire secondary schools. Latterly I worked for local authorities in special educational needs. I have previously been a Clerk to Governors and have served several terms as a school foundation governor. After retiring at the end of 2019 I have taken on a couple of part time roles, one as a Registrar and the other working for the local authority as a Clerk to several governing bodies, including Amesbury CE VC Primary School.
